What is AgentReady?

What is an Agent Readiness Score?

An Agent Readiness Score is a 100-point measure of how well a business is optimised for AI agents. It covers seven dimensions: machine-readable structure, actionability, entity trust and consistency, content extractability, AI answer visibility, competitive readiness, and agent governance.

How is the score calculated?

We crawl your domain, check for structured data, machine-readable files, and clear action paths, then use an LLM-based interpretation layer to assess content extractability and AI visibility. The full methodology is documented at agentreadyindex.io/methodology.

What does each scoring dimension mean?

Machine-Readable Structure (18 pts): schema, sitemap, robots.txt, llms.txt. Actionability (18 pts): can an agent find the right action — buy, book, contact, compare? Entity Trust (18 pts): are your business facts consistent everywhere agents look? Content Extractability (14 pts): can agents pull key information from raw HTML? AI Answer Visibility (14 pts): what do ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude say about you? Competitive Readiness (10 pts): can agents explain why to choose you? Agent Governance (8 pts): have you set explicit policies for how agents interact with your site?

How do I get my free score?

Submit your domain on the homepage at agentreadyindex.io. No login required. We will email you your full score breakdown and top issues within a few minutes.

How long does a score take?

Most domains are scored within 5–15 minutes. Complex or slow-loading sites may take longer. You will receive an email when your score is ready.

Is the free score really free?

Yes. The free score covers all seven dimensions and includes your top issues. No credit card or account is required.

What is a paid audit?

A paid audit goes deeper than the free score. It includes a technical crawl report, full schema review, entity consistency audit across the web, AI answer visibility snapshot, competitor comparison, and a prioritised fix roadmap. Prices start at $499 for a basic audit.

What is llms.txt and why does it matter?

llms.txt is a machine-readable file that sits at the root of your domain (yourdomain.com/llms.txt) and gives AI systems a structured summary of what your business does. It is similar in concept to robots.txt but for LLMs rather than search crawlers. Having a well-written llms.txt improves your score and helps agents quickly understand your business.

How often is my score updated?

Free scores are a point-in-time snapshot. With a monthly monitoring subscription, your score is recalculated each month and you receive alerts when your score changes or a competitor improves.

Can I compare my score against competitors?

Yes. When you submit your domain you can optionally add up to two competitor domains. We will score all three and show you exactly where you lead, where you trail, and which fixes close the gap fastest.

Why is my score lower than I expected?

The most common reasons are: missing or incomplete structured data (JSON-LD), no llms.txt, action paths that are only human-visible (not machine-readable), inconsistent entity facts across platforms, and content that is JavaScript-rendered and invisible to crawlers.

How do I improve my score?

The most impactful fixes are: adding JSON-LD structured data (Organization, Product, FAQ schemas), creating a well-written llms.txt, ensuring key content is in server-rendered HTML, making action paths machine-readable with potentialAction schema, and verifying your entity facts are consistent across all platforms.
